Dr. Bradley J. Barrick begins as 澳门蓝月亮’s seventh president

Dr. Bradley J. Barrick joined 澳门蓝月亮 on July 1 as the institution鈥檚 seventh president.

Dr. Barrick brings leadership experience in higher education as an accomplished administrator and dedicated faculty member. He said he is pleased to work with the college鈥檚 team that is committed to supporting educational needs in the community.

鈥淚鈥檓 excited to join this听passionate听team who over the years have created a culture of caring throughout the institution,鈥 he said. 鈥淚 realized early in the process that the faculty, staff and Board are passionate about our community and enhancing our student鈥檚 educational experiences.

鈥湴拿爬对铝 feels like a natural fit,鈥 he said.

Dr. Barrick is a proud product of the community college system. He began his education at Rose State College before earning a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Barrick also earned master鈥檚 degrees in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Central Oklahoma and Divinity (MDiv) from Oral Roberts University. Dr. Barrick then earned his doctoral degree in Ministry (DMin) from Evangel University.

Before becoming part of the 澳门蓝月亮 family, Dr. Barrick held several administrative and faculty positions at Rose State College. In 2021, he joined the RSC team as the Executive Director of Communications, overseeing the Marketing and Public Relations department. He also served in the role of Executive Director of Government and Military Relations. As a professor, he has taught both in-person and online courses in the business and humanities divisions.

Among his numerous capabilities, Dr. Barrick is relationally-driven, values emotional intelligence, and brings an inordinate amount of energy, passion and joy to his work. His knowledge in higher education builds mutual trust across the educational and political landscape, and his spirited leadership is highly inspirational and motivational both on campus and in the community.

鈥淚 am dedicated to ensuring our faculty and staff have the resources they need to accomplish the goals set forth by the institution,鈥 he said. 鈥淎s a servant leader, it鈥檚 also important to me that as an institution we are dedicated to serving our community to meet a variety of needs.鈥

During his first few weeks on the job, Dr. Barrick said he will spend time walking around the Sidney campus, where his office is located, talking with and getting to know students and staff. He will do the same on the college鈥檚 Greenville campus.

鈥淚 believe听it is important to get to know each person on staff,鈥 he said, 鈥渁nd to listen to their ideas and learn about how they believe we can enhance 澳门蓝月亮.鈥

One of his first items of business is to update the college鈥檚 three-year strategic plan, which was developed in 2021 and is due for a refresh later this year, as well as delving into projects such as student housing and updating the college facilities master plan. With an extensive background in marketing, public relations and government affairs, he looks forward to leading the college in further developing its strategies in these areas.

Dr. Barrick is also an officer in the Army National Guard. In 2023, he deployed on a combat mission to the Horn of Africa as command chaplain of Taskforce Tomahawk and received the Meritorious Service Medal for his extraordinary leadership overseas.

He is supported by his wife and best friend, Shayla. Together, they have helped raise 27 foster children in their home. The couple recently relocated to Greenville from Oklahoma and are excited to get to know the community.

鈥淲e have done some exploring around Montcalm County and surrounding areas,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e are having fun getting to know people and finding hidden gems in the landscape. We look forward to continuing this journey.鈥
